Privacy Policy

• Account information: name, email address, profile picture (only if you sign in via Google), and a hashed password.
• Chat content: the questions you ask, the answers Ziba returns, the citations attached to each answer, and any thread titles you set.
• Usage data:how many queries you've made in the current billing period, plus a timestamped audit log of significant actions (queries, document uploads if you are an admin, payment events).
• Payment information: when you subscribe, our payment processor (Lenco) collects the data needed to complete the transaction. We do not store your card number, MoMo PIN, or full account details. We retain the transaction reference, amount, currency, status, and the payment method (MoMo / Airtel / Card).
• Technical data: standard server logs (IP address, user agent, request paths, timestamps) for security and abuse prevention.

• To provide the Service — answer your questions, save threads, deliver bookmarks and summaries.
• To enforce quotas and your subscription tier.
• To process payments and prevent fraud.
• To send essential transactional email — welcome, password reset, payment receipts, expiring-soon notices.
• To investigate abuse, debug issues, and protect the Service from attack.
• To improve the product (understanding what people ask helps us improve the underlying library and the model prompts). We do not sell or share this data with advertisers.

We share data only with the third parties strictly required to run the Service:

• Lenco — payment processing (mobile money and card transactions in Zambia).
• Resend — transactional email delivery.
• Supabase — managed PostgreSQL database hosting (data resides in EU-West region).
• Google— the underlying language model (Gemini). When you ask a question, the question text and the retrieved library excerpts are sent to Google's API to generate the answer. Google's enterprise terms apply; prompts are not used to train their models.
• Vercel — application hosting and edge network.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it for advertising. We do not provide it to third parties for any purpose other than the operational ones listed above.

• Account data: for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g. tax records for paid transactions).
• Chat threads, bookmarks, summaries: deleted immediately when you delete them, or with the account.
• Audit log entries: retained for 2 years for security and accountability.
• Server logs: rotated within 30 days.

You can:

• Access — see all data we hold on you.
• Correct — fix inaccurate personal data.
• Delete — close your account and have personal data removed (subject to the legal exceptions above).
• Export — get a copy of your threads and bookmarks.
• Object or restrict — ask us to stop a particular use.

Email support@b-ne.net from the address on your account and we'll respond within 30 days.

Passwords are hashed with industry-standard algorithms — we never see your password in plaintext. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to production systems is restricted to a small number of B-ne staff. We don't claim invulnerability — no system is — but we apply current best practices and take security incidents seriously.

Ziba AI is intended for users aged 13 and older. If you become aware that a child under 13 has signed up, please contact us and we'll remove the account.

Our infrastructure is hosted in EU-West (database) and on Vercel's global edge network. By using the Service, you consent to your data being processed in these locations.

We use first-party cookies strictly for authentication (so you stay signed in), CSRF protection, and remembering your light / dark theme preference. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and, where changes are significant, notify you by email before they take effect.
